At the Rotterdam Taekwon-Do Cup, we believe that every athlete deserves a chance to shine on the mat — including the very youngest. That is why we are proud to offer non-contact sparring specifically for children aged 4 through 6 years old!
What is non-contact sparring?
Non-contact sparring is a fun and safe introduction to competitive Taekwon-Do for Mini competitors. Instead of making contact with the opponent, it is all about action and reaction — responding to your opponent with realistic techniques, creativity and confidence. No contact is made at any point, and no protective gear is required.
What will the judges look for?
Competitors are judged on the following:
🥋 Realistic techniques (above the belt and in allowed areas)
⭐ Originality of techniques
📈 Difficulty of techniques
Categories
Non-contact sparring is available in two classes:
- C-class: 10th kub up to and including 9th kub
- B-class: 8th kub up to and including 5th kub
All lengths compete in a single division, for both boys and girls separately.
Important
Every Mini competitor must enter the field together with their coach — this applies to all categories, including non-contact sparring.
